A study in mice demonstrated that the circFNDC3B was significantly downregulated in hearts post-myocardial infarction and in human cardiac tissues of ischemic cardiomyopathy patients, where its overexpression in cardiac endothelial cells increased vascular endothelial growth factor expression, enhanced angiogenic activity, and reduced apoptosis [Tian et al.
