Forensic Context
A study in humans demonstrated that circFOXJ3 is specifically expressed in the peripheral blood of aged people and is highly expressed in aged tissues, where it promotes cellular aging and decreases cardiac functions [Misir et al. DOI:10.1038/s41418-022-00948-7]. A study in human coronary artery segments from a single autopsy case demonstrated that the circFOXJ3 was co-overexpressed in left anterior descending and left circumflex artery samples, identifying it as a potential biomarker associated with coronary atherosclerosis [Hou et al.
