A study in mice demonstrated that the linear and circular RNA form of the circOGDH (LC-Ogdh) was evaluated as a reference gene for postmortem interval (PMI) estimation in liver tissue, where it was identified as the most stable candidate using geNorm and NormFinder algorithms [Tu et al. DOI:10.1007/s12024-018-9973-y]. The research, which examined RNA degradation in heart, liver, and skeletal muscle over eight days postmortem, found that LC-Ogdh showed prioritized stability in liver, ranking first among the tested genes, and was part of a tissue-specific panel of stable reference genes for normalization in RT-qPCR-based PMI estimation.
