Forensic Context

A review of studies in humans, mice, and rats indicates that the circAPP demonstrates good postmortem stability in mouse cardiac tissues for up to 8 days after death and in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissues, supporting its potential for postmortem interval estimation [Tian et al. DOI:10.3390/molecules26041155]. A review consolidating existing research indicates that the circAPP, a circular RNA derived from the APP gene, may translate to an Aβ-related peptide and regulate GSK-3β and tau phosphorylation, implicating it in Alzheimer's disease pathogenesis [Mehta et al.
