Forensic Context
A study in humans demonstrated that circPTPLAD1 is significantly decreased in the peripheral blood of Alzheimer's disease patients and may be used to distinguish them from other dementia cases [Misir et al. DOI:10.1038/s41418-022-00948-7]. A review of human studies indicates the circPTPLAD1 is a circular RNA with decreased expression in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of tuberculosis patients [Lee et al. DOI:10.1016/j.biopha.2018.12.052].
