Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that circQSOX2, found in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, is a diagnostic marker for schizophrenia, with its low level in patients increasing after antipsychotic treatment and ROC curve analysis showing a sensitivity of 84.31% and specificity of 86.41% [Di Agostino et al. DOI:10.3389/fcell.2020.00389]. A study in humans demonstrated that the circQSOX2 is a circular RNA with expression restricted to venous blood samples, and it was included in a target RNA sequencing panel of 135 RNA-SNPs for body fluid identification [Yu et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2025.103416].
