Forensic Context

A study in mice demonstrated that the circSLC29A1 is among 90 differentially expressed striatal circRNAs following cocaine self-administration, with its upregulation validated by qRT-PCR [Bu et al. DOI:10.1038/S41398-019-0527-1]. A review of circular RNAs in sudden cardiac death-related diseases indicates that the circSLC29A1 is increased in the serum of diabetic patients and in high-glucose-treated cardiomyocytes, where it mediates pyroptosis in diabetic cardiomyopathy [Tian et al. DOI:10.3390/molecules26041155].
