Forensic Context

A study in rats and H9c2 cells demonstrated that the circSLC8A1 is upregulated in ischemic heart disease models [Tian et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-021-84056-5]. Furthermore, research in human peripheral blood confirmed the circSLC8A1 is significantly upregulated in myocardial infarction patients and exhibits high diagnostic value as a biomarker [Li et al. DOI:10.3389/fcvm.2022.810257]. A study in mice demonstrated that the circSLC8A1 (mmu_circ_004295) is increased with ischemia time in the heart and promotes cardiomyocyte apoptosis by acting as an endogenous miR-133a-3p sponge [Tian et al. DOI:10.3390/molecules26041155].
