Forensic Context

A study in mice demonstrated that circATP9B is highly expressed in early-stage hepatocellular carcinoma, bladder cancers, and breast cancer, and its decreased expression in myocardial tissues is associated with impaired cardiac function following acute myocardial infarction [Misir et al. DOI:10.1038/s41418-022-00948-7]. A study in humans demonstrated that the circATP9B was significantly downregulated in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of heart failure patients exhibiting sacubitril/valsartan resistance compared to non-resistant patients, a finding validated by quantitative real-time PCR [Su et al. DOI:10.1016/j.ejphar.2023.175547].
