A study in humans demonstrated that circTCEB1 is significantly decreased in peripheral blood of Alzheimer's disease patients and may be used to distinguish them from other dementia cases [Misir et al. DOI:10.1038/s41418-022-00948-7]. A study in human coronary artery segments from a postmortem case demonstrated that the expression of the circTCEB1 was validated by qRT-PCR and showed differential expression across arterial segments, suggesting a pathological role in coronary atherosclerosis [Hou et al.
