A study in human embryonic stem cells demonstrated that the circBIRC6 controls pluripotency by sequestering miR-34 and miR-145 [Patop et al. A study in humans demonstrated that the BIRC6 gene can generate hundreds of circRNA isoforms, and their expression changes during tumorigenesis can differ [Li et al. DOI:10.1093/bib/bby006].
