Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that the circCHD2 was significantly more abundant in CD14+ monocytes from critically ill patients with sepsis due to community-acquired pneumonia compared to healthy subjects. This circular RNA was resistant to RNase R digestion, confirming its circular nature, and its expression was not induced by ex vivo stimulation of healthy monocytes with bacterial components [Khan et al.
