A review of human studies identified 197 miRNAs associated with wound healing, burn wound healing, and scarring, with the miR-410-3p being upregulated in burn hypertrophic scar tissue compared to normal skin [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. A study in rats demonstrated that the miR-410-3p is significantly downregulated in plasma exosomes following 10 minutes of cerebral ischaemia compared to sham controls [Li et al. DOI:10.3389/fnagi.2018.00024], while a separate investigation in rats found that the miR-410-3p is upregulated approximately 2-fold in the hippocampus of heroin-addicted animals [Pence et al. DOI:10.1007/S00221-024-06972-Y].
