A study in rats demonstrated that the miR-450b-3p was significantly upregulated in myocardial tissues following burn injury, identifying it as a potential biomarker for myocardial damage [Guo et al. In a separate investigation in Wistar rats, the miR-450b-3p was downregulated 1.64-fold in the striatum of heroin-addicted animals, establishing it as a biomarker for heroin addiction [Pence et al.
