A study in mice demonstrated that the mir-452 was identified as a down-regulated known miRNA in thymus tissue following whole-body ionizing radiation exposure [Chen et al. In rhesus macaques, the mir-452 was utilized as a feature in a survival prediction model at Day 9 and as a feature in a pleural effusion prediction model at Day 15, demonstrating its role in forecasting outcomes following thoracic irradiation [May et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-022-16316-x].
