A review of human studies identified 197 miRNAs associated with wound healing, burn wound healing, and scarring, with the mir-4524b-5p being one of many dysregulated in these processes [Siu et al. A separate forensic study in humans established a multi-class support vector machine model for body fluid identification using 12 key miRNA markers, though the mir-4524b-5p was not among the evaluated or selected markers in this validated workflow [Li et al. A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-4524b-5p was differentially expressed and shared across three pairs of monozygotic twins, suggesting its potential role as a biomarker for distinguishing genetically identical individuals [Xiao et al.
