A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-4659a was indirectly correlated with total fresh frozen plasma transfused in severely injured trauma patients [Uhlich et al. DOI:10.1016/j.surg.2014.06.017], and a separate review of human skin burn research reported that the mir-4659a was upregulated six hours post-burn in heat-shocked skin epidermal stem cells [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100].
