In a separate investigation using human umbilical vein endothelial cells, the mir-4730 was significantly downregulated in exosomes derived from cells exposed to heat stroke temperature conditions, with a fold change of 31.87, identifying it as a noninvasive biomarker for heat stroke [Chen et al. A review summarizing research on microRNAs as markers of ionizing radiation injury noted that the mir-4730 was down-regulated in human PBMCs at 1 Gy 24h after irradiation, further supporting its role in dose estimation [Jia & Wang DOI:10.3389/fcell.2022.861451].
