Forensic Context

A study in human cadavers demonstrated that exosomal miRNAs, including the mir-4743, are stably preserved in postmortem serum for at least three days when stored at or below 20°C [Kanno et al. DOI:10.1007/S00414-022-02913-Y]. A separate review of human skin biology reported that the mir-4743 is downregulated in hypertrophic scar tissue compared to normal skin, indicating its dysregulation in wound healing and scarring processes [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. Furthermore, a review of thermal skin injury research listed the mir-4743 among miRNAs dysregulated in human hypertrophic scar tissue [Wang & Zhou DOI:10.1007/s00438-024-02183-w].
