A study in humans with coronary artery disease identified the mir-4745-3p as a biomarker for recurrent myocardial infarction risk, finding it was downregulated in whole blood of patients with recurrent MI compared to stable CAD patients after percutaneous coronary intervention, with this differential expression achieving significance after false-discovery rate correction in a replication cohort [Onuoha et al.
