A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-4787-5p is up-regulated in myocardial tissue from deceased septic patients compared to non-septic controls [Pasi Lehto et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-024-81114-6], and a separate study in humans found that serum levels of the miR-4787-5p increased 3.16-fold following recreational alcohol consumption [Ten Berg et al. DOI:10.1080/1354750X.2018.1499128].
