A study in humans with coronary artery disease identified the mir-4800-3p as significantly upregulated in whole blood of patients with recurrent myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention, with this association remaining significant after false-discovery rate correction (FDR <0.1) [Onuoha et al. DOI:10.1111/cts.13307]. A separate review of human skin conditions reported that the mir-4800-3p was downregulated in hypertrophic scar tissue compared to normal skin [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100].
