Forensic Context

A study in human trauma patients demonstrated that the miR-485-3p was significantly upregulated in circulating CD3+ T cells during the injury stage compared to the recovery stage and was identified as a hub gene regulating a miRNA-mRNA interactome predominantly involved in the chemokine signaling pathway [Rau et al. DOI:10.2147/JIR.S375881]. A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-485-3p is upregulated in the plasma of coronary artery disease patients compared to controls and was validated as a potential diagnostic biomarker [Zhong et al. DOI:10.1002/jcla.23020]. In rats, research showed that the miR-485-3p is upregulated in the infralimbic prefrontal cortex following an 18-hour withdrawal from escalated cocaine intake [Kumaresan et al. DOI:10.3390/Biomedicines11051368].
