A study in human myocardial biopsies demonstrated that the miR-487b-3p was upregulated in volume overload cardiomyopathy compared to ischemic cardiomyopathy and its differential expression was validated by qRT-PCR [Bonet et al. DOI:10.3390/biom14050524]. In a separate study on human cardiac stromal cells from arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy patients, the miR-487b-3p showed a tendency for differential expression but did not reach statistical significance [Rainer et al. DOI:10.1186/s12864-018-4876-6]. In a separate study in Sprague-Dawley rats, the miR-487b-3p was found to be upregulated 1.54-fold in the corpus cavernosum of obese rats with erectile dysfunction compared to those with normal function, as identified by miRNA microarray analysis [Bai et al. DOI:10.1016/j.esxm.2017.06.006].
