A review of human studies identified 197 miRNAs associated with wound healing, burn wound healing, and scarring, with specific miRNAs showing altered expression in human skin tissue samples post-burn, during healing, and in hypertrophic scar tissue [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. A study in rats demonstrated that the miR-490-3p expression in the nucleus accumbens increased by 121% in the chronic methamphetamine treatment group compared to the acute treatment group [Sim et al. DOI:10.1007/S11011-017-0061-X]. In a separate investigation, plasma exosomal miR-490-5p, a related miRNA, was identified as a biomarker for early acute myocardial infarction in rats and humans, with its expression showing an increasing trend within 30 minutes post-AMI and being upregulated 1.88 times in human AMI plasma exosomes, contributing to a high-precision identification model [Zhou et al.
