A study in humans evaluating nine candidate precursor microRNA single nucleotide polymorphisms in major blunt trauma patients found that the miR-492 rs2289030C/G was one of the evaluated SNPs but demonstrated no significant association with sepsis morbidity rate or multiple organ dysfunction scores in the screening cohort [Zhang et al.
