Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-495-3p was selected for validation as a potential biomarker for differentiating plaque rupture from plaque erosion in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, but it showed no significant difference between the two groups in the replication cohort [Li et al. DOI:10.1016/j.ygeno.2020.11.019]. In a separate study in male Wistar rats, the miR-495-3p was identified as being up-regulated (2.31 fold) in the nucleus accumbens of animals with chronic methamphetamine addiction compared to those receiving acute treatment [Sim et al. DOI:10.1007/S11011-017-0061-X].
