Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-1255b-2-3p was differentially expressed across two pairs of monozygotic twins, suggesting its potential role in distinguishing genetically identical individuals [Xiao et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2019.05.003]. In a separate investigation in humans, the miR-1255b-2-3p was identified as significantly increased in the plasma of myocardial infarction patients compared to healthy controls using next-generation sequencing [Baulina et al. DOI:10.1016/j.yjmcc.2018.07.129]. Separately, research in human vascular endothelial cells showed the miR-1255b-2-3p is significantly upregulated in exosomes under heat stroke conditions, with a fold change of 81.13, indicating its role as a noninvasive biomarker for this condition [Chen et al. DOI:10.12659/MSM.909983].
