A study in humans established a multi-class support vector machine (MSVM) classification model using 14 microRNAs for forensic body fluid identification, achieving 98% accuracy on an independent test set [Li et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2024.103180]. miR-513a-5p was evaluated as a diagnostic marker for male infertility, where it was found to be downregulated in the seminal plasma of azoospermia patients and upregulated in asthenozoospermia patients, with an AUC of 0.825 and 0.806, respectively [Doghish et al.
