A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-127-5p was not significantly influenced by age or sex when tested using a web-based application designed to assess confounding factors in peripheral blood miRNA profiles [Meder et al. In rats, the miR-127-5p was computationally predicted to bind to the heroin-responsive circular RNA circSlc24a2 at two sponge sites, indicating a potential role in heroin-induced neurobiological adaptations in the orbitofrontal cortex [Gabriele Floris et al.
