A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-1271 was significantly decreased in the plasma of acute myocardial infarction patients compared to healthy controls, as identified by next-generation sequencing [Baulina et al. DOI:10.1016/j.yjmcc.2018.07.129]. A separate review of human studies reported that the mir-1271 was downregulated 24 hours post-injury in skin wounds compared to unwounded skin [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100].
