Forensic Context

A study in human postmortem serum demonstrated that exosomal hsa-miR-551b-5p was significantly upregulated (2.64-fold) in acute myocardial infarction (AMI) autopsy cases compared to hemorrhagic shock controls [Kanno et al. DOI:10.1007/S00414-022-02913-Y]. In separate human skin research, the mir-551b was identified as downregulated in hypertrophic scar tissue compared to normal tissue [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. A study in rats demonstrated that the mir-551b was down-regulated (>1.5-fold) in the hippocampus at 1, 3, and 5 days following traumatic brain injury, identifying it as a potential marker for TBI progression [Sun et al. DOI:10.1007/s11596-014-1313-1].
