A review of human studies identified 197 miRNAs associated with wound healing, burn wound healing, and scarring, with specific dysregulation patterns observed in human skin tissue and cell lines post-thermal injury [Siu et al. A study in humans identified the miR-556-3p as one of seven miRNAs downregulated in healthy controls but upregulated in patients with atrial fibrillation across baseline, 12-month, and 24-month follow-up periods through time series analysis [Wang et al.
