A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-1273h is differentially expressed in peripheral blood between monozygotic twins, as identified by miRNA sequencing and validated by droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), which showed superior recognition accuracy for distinguishing individuals [Wang et al.
