A review of human studies identified 197 miRNAs associated with altered expression in human skin following burns, during wound healing, and in scarring, with specific dysregulation patterns validated by qRT-PCR, microarrays, and next-generation sequencing [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. A review of multi-omics studies in humans identified the miR-576-3p as a microRNA with a negative correlation to chronological age [Solovev et al. DOI:10.1016/j.mad.2019.111192].
