A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-1273h-5p was identified as a differentially expressed microRNA across five pairs of monozygotic twins via miRNA sequencing and was subsequently validated as a candidate for distinguishing such twins using both qPCR and droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), with ddPCR showing significant differential expression in three of five additional validation pairs [Wang et al.
