A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-1275 is upregulated in denatured dermis from deep partial-thickness burn patients compared to paired normal skin, with a 27.90-fold increase validated by miRNA microarray [Liang et al. A subsequent review confirmed the mir-1275 is upregulated 4 days post-burn in deep partial thickness burn skin versus normal skin, classifying it among numerous miRNAs associated with human burn response [Siu et al. DOI:10.1111/wrr.13100]. A review of multi-omics approaches for human biological age estimation identified the mir-1275 as a microRNA with a negative correlation with chronological age [Solovev et al. DOI:10.1016/j.mad.2019.111192]. A separate review on thermal-induced skin injury in humans, rats, and mice documented the mir-1275 as dysregulated in human hypertrophic scar tissue, where it is associated with pathways affecting proliferation and apoptosis [Wang et al.
