Forensic Context

A study in mice demonstrated that the mir-622 promotes lung adenocarcinoma migration and invasion via the miR-622/HIF-1α axis [Huang et al. DOI:10.3390/cells11091381]. A study in humans using massively parallel sequencing identified 90 absolute specific markers (ASMs) for body fluid/tissue identification, including various miRNAs, piRNAs, and snoRNAs, but the mir-622 was not selected as an ASM in this experimental analysis [Liu et al. DOI:10.3390/genes13091530]. A subsequent review noted the mir-622 has been reported in published data as a specific marker for saliva [Liu et al. DOI:10.1007/s00414-025-03656-2].
