A study in humans identified the miR-128-2-5p as a circulating miRNA significantly increased in the plasma of acute myocardial infarction patients compared to healthy controls using next-generation sequencing [Baulina et al. A study in mice demonstrated that the miR-128-2-5p was one of the top 20 most abundant known miRNAs in thymus tissue, and its expression profile was characterized in response to ionizing radiation-induced injury [Chen et al. DOI:10.1080/09553002.2016.1207821].
