Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that the mir-664a-3p was downregulated in the plasma of patients with coronary artery disease compared to normal coronary artery controls, ranking among the top ten downregulated microRNAs identified via RNA sequencing [Zhong et al. DOI:10.1002/jcla.23020]. In a separate review encompassing human and animal models of traumatic brain injury, the mir-664a-3p was identified as a downregulated exosomal microRNA in the serum of patients with chronic mild traumatic brain injury [Li et al. DOI:10.1016/j.neuint.2023.105643].
