Forensic Context

A study in human body fluids demonstrated that the mir-675 was initially selected as a candidate for menstrual blood identification but was not further investigated as its expression levels were below those of reference genes in the target body fluid [Sauer et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2016.01.018]. In a separate human cellular model, the mir-675 was significantly upregulated (fold change 35.56) in exosomes derived from heat stroke temperature-treated vascular endothelial cells, indicating its potential as a noninvasive biomarker for that condition [Chen et al. DOI:10.12659/MSM.909983].
