A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-892b was differentially expressed across two pairs of monozygotic twins, suggesting a role for microRNAs in distinguishing genetically identical individuals [Xiao et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2019.05.003]. In a separate human study, the miR-892b was identified as downregulated in the peripheral blood of patients with sepsis compared to healthy controls via microarray analysis, though its expression trend differed during subsequent RT-qPCR validation [Xu et al. DOI:10.3892/mmr.2022.12850].
