A study in human endothelial cells demonstrated that the miR-942-5p was repressed at specific dose-time points (4 Gy-24h, 4 Gy-72h, 8 Gy-72h) with its target mRNA PLTP induced, identifying it as a mechanistic biomarker for radiation response [Chopra et al. DOI:10.1038/s41598-022-24051-6]. In a separate study on human left ventricular myocardium, the miR-942-5p was found to be upregulated (2.21 fold) in postischemic samples following acute ischemia during cardiac surgery [Saddic et al. DOI:10.1152/physiolgenomics.00049.2015].
