A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-1304-3p was upregulated in whole blood and plasma of patients with recurrent myocardial infarction after percutaneous coronary intervention, showing significant differential expression in both sample types [Onuoha et al. DOI:10.1111/cts.13307]. Another study in humans found that the miR-1304-3p was downregulated in plasma from patients with mild, moderate, and severe traumatic brain injury compared to healthy controls, as identified by microarray analysis [Qin et al. DOI:10.1371/journal.pone.0204051].
