A study in Wistar rats demonstrated that the mir-1-2 was significantly downregulated in skeletal muscle following burn trauma, with a fold change of 0.273701, identifying it as a potential biomarker for muscle wasting [Zhang et al. In human myocardial infarction, the mir-1-2 was downregulated in infarcted heart tissue compared to healthy adult hearts, and its expression was also reduced in fetal hearts, indicating its involvement in cardiac pathology and development [Boštjančič et al.
