A study in Sprague-Dawley rats demonstrated that subcutaneous isoproterenol injection induced cardiac injury, as confirmed by elevated plasma troponin-I, and altered cardiac microRNA expression profiles within one hour [Hosoya et al. DOI:10.1016/J.Legalmed.2024.102475]. Deep sequencing and RT-PCR validation identified the miR-132-3p as significantly upregulated in heart tissue, with a 3.14-fold increase observed via sequencing and a 2.92-fold increase confirmed by RT-PCR in the high-dose group, establishing it as a biomarker for early β-adrenergic stimulus and cardiac injury.
