Forensic Context

A study in humans demonstrated that the miR-136-3p is significantly upregulated in the peripheral blood plasma of preterm newborns with early-onset neonatal sepsis compared to gestational age-matched controls [Janec et al. DOI:10.14712/fb2023069050173]. Furthermore, a meta-analysis of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) in humans identified the miR-136-3p as being previously described as upregulated in the plasma of both TBI rats and mTBI patients, though it was not a primary focus of that computational study [Matyasova et al. DOI:10.4149/gpb_2021038].
