A study in human body fluid identification demonstrated that the miR-150-5p was evaluated as a body fluid-specific miRNA marker for peripheral blood but was lowly expressed and did not show the expected specificity [Li et al. DOI:10.1016/j.fsigen.2024.103180]. In a separate human study on spinal cord injury, the miR-150-5p was identified as a biomarker, showing a marked reduction in plasma at 48 hours post-injury in NGS analysis, though ddPCR validation showed a concordant but non-significant trend [Hörauf et al.
