A study in mice demonstrated that methamphetamine-induced locomotor sensitization involves significant downregulation of mature miRNAs, including the mir-1537, in the nucleus accumbens, alongside decreased Ago2 and increased Dicer1 expression, indicating disrupted miRNA biogenesis as a key mechanism in addiction [Liu et al.
