Forensic Context

A study in human trauma patients demonstrated that the mir-16-1 was significantly upregulated in circulating T cells during the injury stage compared to the recovery stage [Rau et al. DOI:10.2147/JIR.S375881]. In a separate forensic investigation on human postmortem brain tissue, the mir-16-1 was significantly upregulated in traumatic brain injury (TBI) cases versus controls, with its expression significantly higher in cases with short survival and in the critical–fatal TBI subgroup [Consalvo et al. DOI:10.3390/ijms25179539].
